Throes, Tether Festival
As is often forgotten, human beings are animals and are therefore still ruled by basic instincts despite outward appearances encouraged by polite society. Throughout her degree, Charlotte's artwork attempted to confront the viewer with aspects of human nature that many people would rather forget, leading to pieces that created a visceral reaction through the presentation of uncomfortable experiences. This, coupled with a backlash against the recent wave of cute craft-based artwork in Nottingham galleries, led to Throes; an exhibition of work exploring the darker side of the human condition.
